Nazanin Afshin-Jam

Nazanin was born in Tehran, Iran in 1979. Her family moved to Canada when she was two years old. She graduated from the University of British Columbia with a degree in Political Science and International Relations; and she attended prestigious schools in Paris and England. After graduation, she took on work with the Red Cross as a Global Youth Educator. In 2003, she became Miss World Canada and went on to compete in the Miss World pageant, where she ranked second. Today, she is known more for her political activism than her beauty contest trophies (although, she has many of those as well). She is fluent in English, Farsi, French and can speak conversational Spanish. She is also a pilot and has achieved the highest rank in the Royal Canadian Air Cadets. Miss Afshin-Jam is also a singer-songwriter. There is so much more to say about this incredible young woman, but for now, let's look at some pictures of the lovely and talented, Miss Nazanin Afshin-Jam.
