Born in London, England, and raised in Thornhill, Ontario, Jian's career is one filled with accomplishments (frankly, too many to list here, so look up the rest if you're still interested, I recommend it)! He has been a radio host of his own show in CBC Radio One for the last several years, a show that has become the highest-rated timeslot in CBC history. Moreover, Jian has hosted a number of television documentaries. He lists his hobbies as watching hockey and eating pistachios (yes, like a true Persian Canada!!) As well, Jian is a writer whose editorials and opinion pieces have been published in The Globe and Mail, The Toronto Star and so on. Since 2008, he has been a weekly columnist for The National Post. His achievements don't stop there.... Jian is a singer, songwriter and musician and was at one point a member of the multi-platinum selling folk group, Moxy Fruvous. The York University alum is now a music producer and managing the career of the hit Canadian songstress LIGHTS (now a JUNO award winner). He is known as Canada's "Best Media Personality" in TV or radio. He is an acclaimed academic and artistic star, with a flair for over-achieving... yup, he must be Persian!
